Landscape Design AI transforms photos of your outdoor spaces into AI-generated landscape design concepts. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights available to you.
Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Landscape Design AI handles your personal information when you visit landscape-design.ai, create an account, upload photos, and generate designs using our AI-powered landscape design tools.
This policy applies to the Landscape Design AI website, our design tools, and the emails we send you about the service. It does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to — they have their own privacy policies. By using Landscape Design AI, you agree to the handling of your information as described in this policy.
Who We Are and How to Contact Us
Landscape Design AI ("Landscape Design AI," "we," "us," or "our") is an online AI-powered landscape design platform. The service is operated by Landscape Design AI.
For privacy-related questions or requests, please contact us at [email protected] or through our contact page.
Quick Overview
If you read only one section, read this one:
- We collect your email address (via Google sign-in), the photos you upload, the design concepts we generate, and basic technical and usage data.
- We use this information to operate your account, generate designs, keep the service secure, and provide you with support.
- We send your photos to a third-party AI provider to create design concepts. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos to train our own models.
- We share data only with service providers that help us operate Landscape Design AI, under contractual obligations.
- You can delete any design or your entire account at any time.
Personal Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Landscape Design AI, and falls into these categories:
- Identifiers and Account Data: Your email address; if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from Google; and a unique account identifier.
- Visual Content You Upload: Photos of yards, gardens, patios, front yards, or other outdoor spaces. Photos may contain personal or location details (such as a recognizable home or people visible in the image), so please be mindful of this before uploading.
- Design and Project Data: The AI-generated landscape design concepts we produce for you, along with the style, space type, and design options you select.
- Usage and Device Data: Pages visited, features used, date and time of activity, and technical data such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, operating system, and device type.
- Communications: Messages, questions, and feedback you send to us through the contact page or via email.
Where Your Information Comes From
We obtain personal information from three sources:
- Directly from you: When you upload photos, select design options, generate designs, or contact us.
- Automatically collected: The usage and device data described above is generated automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use the service.
- From third parties: When you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- Generate your landscape design concepts based on the photos you upload and the options you select, and keep those designs and their original photos available in your account.
- Create and operate your account, sign you in via Google, and manage your access to the service.
- Operate, maintain, secure, debug, and improve the product, and develop new features.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Send service and transactional messages about your account, security, or important changes.
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and enforce our agreements.
How Your Photos Are Processed by AI
Generating designs is the core feature of this product. Here is how your photos are processed.
When you request a design, your uploaded photo and selected options are used to generate a design prompt, which is then sent, together with your photo, to a third-party AI model provider. This provider processes the images and returns the generated design concepts to us. The provider acts as our data processor in this process and handles images under its own commitments and terms.
We do not sell your photos or designs. We do not use them to identify you or to build advertising or marketing profiles. We do not use your photos or designs to train our own AI models.
Your photos and designs are stored privately, associated with your account, and served to you through secure, short-lived signed links. They are not publicly accessible unless you choose to create a share link.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes:
- Essential Cookies: To keep you signed in, secure the product, and remember your preferences. The product cannot function without them, so they are always on.
- Analytics Cookies: To help us understand how people use Landscape Design AI so we can improve the experience. You can block or delete non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Because tracking signals are not yet standardized, we do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Legal Basis for Processing (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we process your data under the following legal bases under the GDPR and UK GDPR:
- Performance of a contract: Creating your account, processing your photos into designs, and operating the service you have requested.
- Legitimate interests: Securing the product, preventing abuse, understanding usage, and improving Landscape Design AI, balanced against your rights and interests.
- Legal obligation: Retaining tax and accounting records and responding to lawful requests.
- Consent: Where required by applicable law (such as for non-essential analytics cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers (data processors) that help us operate Landscape Design AI, and they are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only on our behalf:
- Hosting and Infrastructure: Our cloud hosting provider, which stores our databases, files, and application.
- AI Generation: Third-party AI model providers, which process your photos to generate design concepts.
- Authentication: Google, for providing sign-in services.
- Product Analytics: Analytics providers that help us measure and improve how the product is used.
Other Disclosures
We may disclose personal information beyond the providers listed above when we reasonably believe it is necessary to: comply with laws, regulations, legal processes, or government requests; enforce our Terms of Service; detect or prevent fraud, security, or technical issues; or protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Landscape Design AI.
If Landscape Design AI is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to comply with this policy or provide equivalent protection, and will notify you of any change in control of your data.
We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money, nor do we share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past.
Designs You Choose to Make Public
You may create share links for your designs. Anyone with the link can view the design and its before-and-after comparison without an account, so please share only with people you trust.
You control these links. When you delete a design or your account, its share link will no longer work.
International Data Transfers
Landscape Design AI may process your information in countries other than your own, where our servers and service providers are located. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses, together with technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Account, Photos, and Designs: For as long as your account remains active. When you delete a design, we remove the design and its original photo from storage. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data as well as stored photos and designs.
- Backups and Logs: Cleared on a regular rolling schedule.
How We Protect Your Information
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, private storage for photos and designs, and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You also play an important role: please keep access to your Google account secure, as that is how you sign in to Landscape Design AI. If a security incident affects your personal data, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information: access, correction, deletion, obtaining a portable copy, objecting to or restricting certain processing, and withdrawing consent.
You can delete individual designs or your entire account at any time through your account settings. For any other requests, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Generating landscape designs does not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. If you believe we have processed your data improperly, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, though we would welcome the opportunity to address your concerns first.
U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with consumer privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, or Oregon), you have the right to know about and access the personal information we collect, delete personal information, correct personal information, and opt out of any sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, nor do we use sensitive personal information for purposes requiring an opt-out.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before taking action, typically by confirming control of your account email address.
Children's Privacy
Landscape Design AI is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 as defined by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our product and the law evolve. We will update the effective date at the top of the page; for material changes, we will notify active users by email or through the service before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the product after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
